Seba Kayan is a Viennese artist, DJ, producer, and lecturer AT THE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS VIENNA whose work challenges the Western defaults of electronic music through diasporic sound, club culture, and experimental practice.

Drawing from Kurdish and European contexts, her work examines how sound carries memory, power, and cultural hierarchy. Through club performance, production, and research, she challenges the Western-centric defaults that shape how electronic music is heard, valued, and organized.

Rather than reproducing the divide between East and West, her practice unsettles the structures that produce that divide in the first place.

From Donaufestival to Jupiter Disco (NYC) and Wiener Festwochen, her sets move through gritty textures, heavy percussion, and ecstatic melodic fragments.
